| We went to England to visit my mom's friend. Most of the trip was just really boring. Mike and I'd been promised if we'd behave, we'd get to romp through a nearby forest. We bounded along the path, veered off to climb some pines and jump some streams. It had rained the day before, so everything was gloriously muddy. Too muddy. I was leading. I got stuck up to mid calves in this thick, sloppy mud. Mike was right behind me. He got stuck too. So he started throwing these huge gobs of mud at me, pelting my back. I couldn't retaliate. When we finally got home, I was just blue eyes and mud. My mom's friend had a trail of towels leading to the bathroom. She knew us too well. | |
