Stupid Babo

1) It is Saturday night. I have a lot of homework and want to go to the Manhall party.
2) I, being stupid, feel guilty I have accomplished absolutely nothing that Saturday and decide to finish one thing before I can let myself go to the party.
3) Wishing to be efficient, I seek out a quiet place to work.
4) I find myself wandering over to the Academic Center and walking up multiple flights of stairs.
5) I settle in a dark clump of chairs in the corner on the third floor.
6) I am working well until I am interrupted by a voice behind me.
7) “Whaddya doing up here?” says the thick low-class Boston accent.
8) I turn around and see a bald, muscular, intimidating-looking Babson police officer walking towards me.
9) Uh oh, Babo.
10) “It’s a Saturday night ya know. You ought to be out doing something. Anything more fun than studying,” he informs me.
11) I nod. As if I need to be told that one twice.
12) “Let me guess. You’re one of those type that works all the time,” he smirks, “Tell me- did you get straight-A’s in high school?”
13) Damn, he’s got me.
14) “I swear I’m social. Really, this is the first time I’ve ever done this! I swear,” I blurt out.
15) “What about those A’s?”
16) I nod. He smiles. “Knew it.” he says, shaking his head.
17) “I’m actually going to a party after this. I’m just trying to get something done,” I say stupidly, as if that will redeem my epic-loser status.
18) “Right, right, well you have fun with your studying then,” he says as he walks off.
19) As he exits into the stairwell, I hear him muttering something about, “Oh those Olin students…”
20) Stupid Babo crushed my self-esteem.
21) I went to the Manhall party and was perfectly social, albeit internally crushed by my inescapable dorkiness: I just got told to go have a social life by a police man. A Babson police man at that.

What if you got rejected from Olin?

It's weird getting told to have fun by a cop, haha.
But this is great writing!

What if you murdered him in cold blood?

What if he was a guy from man hall dressed up to intimidate lonely, studying girls on Saturday nights to go to their parties?

What if you were hilariously drunk at the time Babo approached you?

What if Babo weren't like, total dicks and didn't crash Manhall parties?

What if he was actually a sketchy Babson student who went back to sketchy Babson to get his sketchy friends to come kidnap you?

Did he honestly have anything better to do than go bother you?

Where was his wife that night? She wasn't at home, but he didn't know.

What if you had actually been reading a romance novel instead of doing homework?

What if the police officer recognized your book?

What if he then proceeded to discuss specific scenes from the book with you?

What if the Babo actually was actually a dementor, and you inadvertently cast a patronus without your wand using non-verbal magic?

What if the Babo started singing and dancing and you realized your life was a musical? What would this musical be called?

What if Babo then busted that same Manhall party because you mentioned it and then Man Hall was out for your blood?

What if this were the opening to a hilarious pornographic film you once saw in a French theater, while studying to be a film major?

What if I believe it is our fate to be here? It is our destiny. I believe this night holds, for each and every one of us, the very meaning of our lives. This is a war and we are soldiers. What if tomorrow the war could be over? Isn't that worth fighting for? Isn't that worth dying for?

What if you had just gone to the party?

what if the policeman ended up raiding and shutting down the party and you saw a decidedly different side of him?

what if there was something really scary in the woods, not just mud?
